about Margaret McGarry Art - Margimage What is a Margimage?! The term was coined by a dear friend to describe the process of the creation of the pieces as well as the finished product. The genre may be best classified as abstract expressionism, images are created by layering mixed media mostly paint and ERW living alkaline water applied to a variety of substrates and photographed throughout a session under a variety of lighting conditions which can take place in a few hours or over the course of weeks...the originals are destroyed in the process. When the paint and various media start flying magic happens souls emerge on the page and I often feel more like a channel than anything else - it's both humbling and exhilarating experience! Pieces are giclees/printed on museum quality paper and are not manipulated in any way with the exception of zoom or crop and can be limited to one “original” or numbered series (certificates of authenticity available on request.) I dedicate this work to my incredible Mom who among so many other loving gestures used to knit energy pillows for her 10 children and her grandchildren, infusing them with her loving energy her healing touch. As a self-avowed chromotherapist I find the spectrum of colors alone can raise my vibration and the forms that come through can calm uplift or inspire me personally and as such can be custom designed for the individual - my hope and intent is that the images created intrigue and capture the imagination of the viewer and ultimately impart a feeling of connection and well-being...it is a never-ending delight when people share what they see and how the art makes them feel giving me a whole new perspective and feeling of validation of the value and purpose of the work aside from the sheer joy of creating it!
