ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I was born in USSR. My painting can tell you about some Soviet symbols. We used this kind of a bottle to buy milk. Apple symbolizes Russian generosity, and Gzhel (Russian's folk style). On the right side, you can see a finger pointing and showing the direction of the Communist Party, with sent a lot of people to prisons. You can also see a window of a prison. Totally it’s about communist regime in USSR.

As an artist living and creating in an era of global change, I call for reflection on how our behavior and actions shape and influence the world. My works address issues of racial, sexual and social discrimination, actions that destroy nature, secondary consumption of resources. I raise particular concern about the situation of animals and their treatment, believing that the world is a single whole, and our respect for it should be comprehensive. Referring to the history of Native Americans and Africans, the legends of Scandinavia, the culture of ancient Roman, Asia, the philosophers of Greece, Egypt, I put meanings, symbols and mysteries into my works, which each viewer perceives based on their experience, emotional state and moment. I believe that art should be a tool that helps bring people and nature closer together, and not separate them. This is how my objects of art are born. They choose their viewers themselves and enter into a dialogue with them assuring that no one else can influence their judgment. Lana Reiber is a Russian-Polish conceptual, multidisciplinary artist, born in Kazakhstan. Also, she is an activist. Life experience and the cultural traditions of different countries inspired her to move from Kazakhstan to Russia, and then to England. However, her trip to the United States is what brought a miracle – a great love that changed her life. While in Germany, Lana was focused on travel and studied art. She was inspired with the amazing history and art of Europe, by great masters of the past, and the creations of her contemporaries. It was at this time that her desire to become an artist began to mature and flourish. Lana’s legal education developed her analytical way of thinking and the desire to search for the truth, substance, and the processes used to reach a decision. Her works participated in several exhibitions in Germany, USA. And her works are in private collections in America, in 12 countries of EU. Today, Lana is fully immersed in art and lives and works in North Carolina USA.
