ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I just love the woodgrain on this one. Because my work is about capturing the joy you feel when you are really present in nature, I use the wood as a critical part of the composition. I determine what I want to cover and what I want to reveal to provide the viewer with a feeling of connectedness to the natural world around us. I work only with a palette knife and mix my colours on the knife to keep the petals fresh and loose. I want the view to feel like they are looking out the window and seeing an inspiring sight.
