ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by my current painting residency in Renkum Holland. I took my bike loaded with my oil paints and crossed the lower Rhine by ferry boat. When I got to the other side this big expanse opened up and I peddled onto Heteren. As I got close to the village I came across these magical small horses feeding along the bike path/highway. They were not fenced in except by the steep hill leading down to their pasture. I played with the composition a bit but it ended up with this surreal feeling hard to put into words, very magical.
