Untitled 1 Painting

I use acrylic so I can work quickly, building layer on layer of paint it allows me to use it almost like water colour without the paint becoming muddy. I am always inspired by sea and sky both are always changing and allows me more freedom of expression that working with the figure inhibits. All the pieces I paint are directly from my imagination I do small studies in sketchbooks but once in front of a canvass I allow the work to flow only stopping to recharge my pallet or if the flow stops I allow myself to study what's there and make decisions based on that. What I hope viewers will get from the image is a sense of the power of the sea but also its mystery we know more about space than we do the seas depths and what may lie beneath... The sea is a healing force that some find inspirational but it should never be taken for granted... It is one of my greatest hopes to live by the sea... Though I fear I might spend too much time just staring at it!
