Untitled 4 - 2016 Painting

The work presented here takes part in a continuous attempt to understand the fascination for the image and the notion of aestheticism present in paintings. Often using a fictional landscape as base, the images are intuitively created without primary intentions and are drawn from various subconscious inspirations. The result is an exploration of the painting practice and its infinite possibilities of combination of colors and shapes. It is meant to be viewed primarily as paintings, rather than as a representation of a specific object or figure through the medium of painting. For this reason, the paintings are intentionally left untitled as they do not wish to impose an idea to the viewer and aim at drawing the attention on the matter and at leaving room for possible interpretations of the subject.
