About The Artwork
Untitled III reflects my interest in the face and the psychology of the gaze. What stories are hidden in a person’s eyes? The paint is applied in streaked sections, alternately added and scraped away. The material used for this artwork is called dura-lar, which is a translucent paper-like film similar to mylar. Both sides of dura-lar can be painted or drawn on, allowing the “backside” to show through and giving multiple layers to the final piece. This work is painted on dura-lar film, a translucent archival film similar to vellum, and can be framed in a simple black frame upon request.

In 2013, she completed her MFA at UMass Dartmouth on a Distinguished Artist Fellowship. Charity has also studied painting in Italy, Sicily, and France.
