About The Artwork

(Everything went) Just Like U Said It Would B: (Everything went) just as you predicted. In this sense the title of this body of work can be understood as ironic. All the works developed within this ambit have as their main orientation the sense that something is not right or that something does not belong where it is. This series of works that develops in a multidisciplinary work, where painting, photography, text and also installation come in, aims to reflect my artistic intentions in the thematic of the uncompromising attitude, in the assumption of error, in the emotion and in the spontaneous form that resides in the works themselves. Often revealing a sudden will or a strong and unthinking desire to act. Considering the wrong as a source of learning, and from a philosophical point of view, much more than considering the error as something unwanted, it is a stage of greater importance, as it is intrinsically linked to the experience that we all accumulate throughout our lives. On the other hand, the act of hiding is also reflected. The act of hiding can be divided into several meanings. It can mean to hide from sight, to cover, to disguise, to be ignored or to go unnoticed and even not to appear. It is in the sense of remaining secret, hiding one's real intentions, just like a curtain on a theatre stage. The spectacle of life has begun. //Untitled ( Just Like U Said It Would B #2), 2022 150x100 cm Mixed media on raw cotton canvas

Filipe Real Marinheiro (b.1990, Portugal) Lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal. In his work Filipe explores the constant physical mutation of space, the removal of the physical mark and degradation, thus challenging the limits of the use of the urban environment. His painting is about image and about painting in its purest form sharing an uncompromising attitude and assuming the error, the emotion and the spontaneous form that resides in the works themselves. Often revealing a sudden will or strong and unthinking desire to act. The materials used only serve as a means of conveying the idea where each painting through bold spray paint strokes and paper collage conveys a particular change, both physical and emotive. Although they may seem quick and gestural, in reality all the paintings were derived from deliberation, study and modification, resulting in a work where the positive and negative spaces interact with each other as the black and white presence of the canvases, leaving the viewer free to experience the emotions depicted on the canvases and project their own meaning. forĀ  informations or sales inquiries info@filiperealmarinheiro.com
