For many years I studied maps and my early works show that influence. Finally I discovered the cartographic view of mandalas. Mandala is a graphical representation of the center (the Self at Jung). It can appear in dreams and visions or it can be spontaneously created as a work of art. Jung said that no mandala is like any other, they are all individually different. Every person search for a perfect balance and harmony. But in real life we live "a distorted mandala", it is not perfect but represents ourselves.

Vera Fonseka is an artist based in Portugal whose paintings have been widely exhibited nationally. She describes her works as conveying the paradoxical existence between the scrupulous intricacy of the details and the brutality of iconography. Fonseka's artistic process is marked by her use of mixed techniques with adhesives, fabrics, acrylics, and oils on canvas. She was born in 1982 in Tallinn (ex URSS, actually Estonia) in an actors-family. In 2003 Vera moved to Portugal where she's been living since then. Inspired by Kandinsky, Frank Stella, Beatriz Milhazes and Alexandra Mir, Vera Fonseka tries to make conceptual contribution in Contemporary Art.
