Through the relationship of colours, forms, and marks, through rhythm and balance, and the physical and psychological work of painting, each picture develops into a unique expression. Using visual suggestions, I draw the viewer into an imagined landscape, into a colourful, dynamic world that hovers between the abstract and the representational. I believe in what Picasso said, “There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality. “I have always been passionate about nature, but creating a bridge between realism and abstraction in nature is what I want to achieve, representing nature forms and destroying them as I love toward the abstract. Uncertainty! This is interesting, nature so often finds uncertainty fascinating. As my body of work has matured over the past several years, a lighter, more buoyant palette has emerged. The fluid marks art thinly applied to a multi-layered surface. Often times, a well-placed brushstroke can anchor the painting and allow the colour fields and tonal variations to recede and advance across the ground
