Art Description

Painting: Watercolor on Paper.

An abstract landscape sparked by a song lyric of the late great Don Van Vliet “...rainbows, brainbows up straw hill, breaks my heart to see the highway cross the hill....”

This is one of a series of small watercolour studies that may one day form the basis of some large oil paintings. After an absence of forty five years spent learning to draw and paint the real world, I thought it might be time to abandon objective reality. I've been revisiting abstraction, which I used to enjoy in my student days.
