About The Artwork

In the second century before Christ, the Romans began to expand into the Iberia Peninsula, the area where Spain and Portugal would evolve the future. The Roman expansion met with considerable resistance from the indigenous population know as the Lusitanians. None of the local leaders of resistence that the legions encountered in all of Europe impressed the Roman historians as much as Viriato, the leader of the Lusitanians. Between the years 147 to 139 BC. Viriato and the army he commanded was able to fight the legions to a standstill in large areas of what is now central Spain. He was one of several leaders who slowed the Roman advances. Paper Sketch 150gm

QL lives and works in Ericeira, Portugal I m temperamental and emotional. I love to break the rules and build new ideias, new ways to improve life. Art is my passion and spirit. I follow my own path. My work explores the relationship between this world and the magic that urges in the canvas. The mystery of things. I don't go to bed without drawing, scratching, painting something, even though I'm very tired, art saves me every day and it's this wild, bestial force that drives me to creating images. One day I'll understand why, now I'm on the way to get there.
