ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I had the chance to visit the castle of Abbadia on the Basque coast. The castle is majestic and overlooks the cliffs...I enjoyed this visit very much but what touched me the most was the magnificent park of this castle and especially the trees that make it up. I’ve taken dozens of photos of these trees from every angle. Here is one that I painted in watercolor from one of these photos: a cypress of Lambert (or Monterey). These trees are so beautiful and I never tire of looking at them through the photos I took and I think I will often reproduce them within my paintings....

The watercolor allows me to express the brightness, the intensity of the colors of nature. It is a medium that allows a great diversity in the choice of subjects as well as the techniques used. It allows a painting all in transparency and subtlety. My main source of inspiration is nature, landscapes, mountains. All the beautiful places I meet can combine in my mind and a new landscape is born out of all the different images I have in mind. Sometimes my watercolors mix with my photographs, a new universe appears, tinged with realism and imagination.
