About The Artwork
This is one of my "Paint left-overs" series. I painted the piece of art paper completely in velvet black, unsure as to what I might do with it. It sat around for a little while with a few other pieces I had yet to finish until I decided one day to use some of my leftover paint. I got out my palette knife and went to work, gently scraping the brilliant paint over the matte surface of the midnight black. Soon, I had a beautiful rainbow-like effect and I loved it! Then I added the little bits of white over top of it all and - Voila! "Velvet Rainbow" was created.
