Netherlands
Andrea Emde was born in Berlin, Germany, in 1972. In 1998 she moved to the Netherlands, and began to attend different artistic training workshops. She uses materials such as inks and watercolors, with a style that is very close to Sumi-E. Due to her minimalist style, she could be considered an abstract artist who breaks with the sense of classical beauty, to put a new expressive order, equally powerful and subtle. The Dutch atmosphere greatly influences its creation, as well as the Japanese Wabi Sabi philosophy. During the last 4 years she has also spent long periods of time in Mexico, allowing herself to be influenced by the great cultural richness of that country.
