CROZANT: An early autumn view of the Crozant. This is a commune in the Creuse department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France. The ruined castle on the hilltop above the Creuse River was the property of Isabella of Angoulême, widow of King John I of England, This image was painted by David EP Dennis from a photograph taken on location by wildlife photographer and friend, Andy Jenner. The style pays homage to some of Cezanne's brushwork. Painted on canvas using Winsor & Newton Professional Acrylics and art pens. This is a painting of a landscape steeped in history. I will be doing more French location paintings soon.
