Vincent the Redhead Painting

A study after John Peter Russell's great portrait of Vincent Van Gogh, I was visiting the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and snuck a photo of this work. This is a casual study after Russell and I have tried to stay true to the original except I have made the beard a bit more red. This is a work in progress, so I will be adding green eye coloration and a signature and maybe some other tweaks now and then. I will update the photo whenever I make a significant change. I am also interested in Van Gogh's socialism and the fact that his initial work was depicting coal miners and peasants.
