ABOUT THE ARTWORK
When I start a painting the only thing I have preplanned is the color palette. I usually lean towards a limited palette consisting of 2 to 3 colors. By adding varied amounts of black and white to the color choices you can create a harmonious feel that appears to have several colors. There are three collage pieces in this painting with lots of detail up close. The sides are painted and signed on the sides. Hardware is attached for immediate hanging.

I have been an artist since 1990, the first 20 years as a ceramic artist and a painter since 2010. I work with acrylic paint and incorporate several mark making, collage and textural materials into my paintings. I like to think the initial view of my paintings will draw the viewer in for a closer look to see all the details. I have sold and displayed my artwork in local galleries. I have completed and sold several commissioned paintings. I have always been drawn to figurative artwork, my early figurative paintings were more representational with abstract backgrounds. Over time I have gravitated to abstract figurative work and abstract expressionism which I find allows the mind to be free to express itself. As an artist my hope is that my artwork evokes emotion in others and ultimately brings joy.
