ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This abstract watercolor created in Payne's Grey pigment, is zen and minimalist in feeling. It is framed in a complementary charcoal grey wooden frame. The painting is floating on a white background that matches the white of the paper and a nice amount of breathing space was left between the painting and the edge of the frame. I hold an MFA in Costume Design from North Carolina School of the Arts where my artistic career began in theater design and production. Over time, my love of visual art led me to study plein-air painting. This marked a significant transition from theater to a dedicated studio practice. Now, I create both landscapes and abstract paintings from my home art studio.
