Walk #1 Painting

Inspired by the notebooks of abstract artist Hilma AF Klint, Walk #1 is an experiment in association. It is a visual yet vague diary of a moment in time. Each colour, each change in technique is a fragment of the memory that is being reimagined. The stray from reality is the warped image created in the mind, holding the memory, which is distorted over time into aura-like visuals. The idea occurred when visiting an exhibition and seeing a Derek Jarman diary behind glass. The desire to read further was stunted and this feeling is reflected in the painting which like many abstract-expressionist artworks, leaves the interpretation to the viewer.
