One of the paintings from the Aleppo series, related to the humanitarian crisis. An abstract expression of the human life fragility ….of destroyed city is created by crackle plaster and limited colours. One of the paintings from Aleppo series. It is an abstract expression of the human life fragility and destroyed city is created by crackle plaster and limited colours This painting is one of the series related to Aleppo and crisis in Syria, but disconnected from the political aspect and focused on the human tragedy... Moved by tragic events I started to think how fragile and unpredictable life is, how easy everything can be destroyed... can be lost. The materials and technique such as crackle plaster and grey dust powder which I have used for creating this series are a symbolic, visual representation of the destroyed life the same way as a destroyed city.

I am a qualified Architect and Self-taught Artist with many years of a creative career. Despite my architectural education, art has always been present in my life and has had a significant influence on my perception of the world. As an artist, I seek to create an emotional response evoked by nature, landscape or music and express it through dramatic impressions of strong textures, the composition of shapes, marks, patterns and contrasting colours. I concentrate on abstract painting, which I found to be the best form of expression of my response to the outer world, my moods, reflections, thoughts and the state of mind that whatever life puts me into. I collect the inspiration during my long, solitary walks in nature, where being disconnected from your everyday business brings this incredible calmness and a sense of being an integral part of the magnificent surroundings. Like this lost connection is rebuilt in this very moment of solitude and harmony. My art is about feelings and emotions which everyone holds deep inside; about dreams and hopes…about passion and joy….about loneliness, fear and loss. I work mostly from my London-based studio with oil and mixed mediums on large-scale canvases. Using varius textures is a signature to my artistic expression. Working with oils brings some sort of rhythm to the way I work, the drying process forces me to pause and reflect on forms and textures resonating back from the canvas. It is a very intuitive process.
