Walking the Dog at Sunrise Painting

For as long as I remember I have always drawn. Everywhere I went involved a sketch pad and pencils. At the age of fourteen I started experimenting with pastels then oil paint. I consider myself self taught and although I have created different pieces, from animal paintings to cartoon cell animations, I found that landscape painting was where I felt most comfortable. After reaching A level standard at art college, then starting a career in TV, I spent less time with the art and it wasn’t until getting involved with my daughters School artwork that I felt that it was time to pick it back up again. The recent ‘lockdown’ has given me the time to really throw myself into it and be able to be creative again. This is my new life now and I’m finding myself driving out into the Peak District which is on the edge of where I live, to get the inspiration to try new and different things. I’m hooked again! I have been concentrating with oils on canvas, but have done a few watercolour paintings too. I hope you enjoy looking at the pieces I produce as much as I enjoy creating them.
