I am visually enchanted by the reflections of light and the shapes made by the refraction of light in a pool of water. This body of work connects me to an ephemeral, symbolic, narrative that is part of ancient pre-European cultural. The work is a diptych, painted with Golden acrylics on two, wood panels, 24" wide by 48" high. The edges are painted a very light grey and the work is ready to hang. Drawing and painting on wood panel provides a surface of surprises. The charcoal drawing underlay of the mermaid's face and hair is made of branches interlaced with hearts, clubs and diamonds. She has a determined look to conquer the temporal world before her with divinity and soul at her back. This painting uses premium materials including Golden Acrylic Liquid paints, charcoal and graphite, and is painted on Baltic Birch plywood, with ¼" (6mm) thick painting panels that retains tremendous strength. Please note, this will ship in a premium box and NOT a crate. We ship using UPS approved art boxes from Uline, with art wrapped in bubble wrap and other protective materials. Shipping unframed, stretched canvas and wood panel sizes up to 60" packaged in high quality, boxed packaging. These can be reused for moving purposes. Kati Bujna, fine artist - studied in traditional and contemporary multimedia. Kati is influenced most by artists of the early 20th century cubist and expressionist movement. O’Keefe, Kandinsky, Carr, Klimt and Picasso, as well as contemporary street artists. The main thread in Kati's work is strong layers of colour and expressive line work, and situational use of representational and abstract figures, motifs and shapes. Kati's work is a response to exotic landscapes..and how she moves —or is moved—through them.
