Painting: Acrylic, Metal on Wood.
For this piece, I was inspired by water and smoke. I have a slight obsession with the undulating serpentine nature of the way the two flow and wanted to capture that concept. I wanted the image to be simplistic in concept, so i kept it in black and white, so the viewer could focus on the fluidity of the brush strokes. To push the motion for the viewer and give it a greater sense of structure and dimension I accentuated teh stroke lines with gold, using its reflectivity to mimic water as light hits it, making the image feel deeper and more interactive with the viewer as they move around the image.
My goal with this piece is to evoke a sense action and meditation. I love bold statements, but also love art that moves the eye slowly. I want you to feel empowered by this piece, motivated, and peaceful.
