Water Springs Painting

This large acrylic on canvas portrays a serene yet powerful collection of women holding each other in an embrace. The scene resembles a large rock formation or perhaps a body of water. Through abstract forms and expressive use of deep color contrast, the painting merges the boundaries between form and space, body and natural surroundings. It evokes a sense of unity and speaks about the power of women holding space for each other and supporting one another. The painting also holds symbolic allegories about fertility, the creative power that water and women share, and refers to inter-generational dynamics of women. During its exhibition in April 2024, the artwork was accompanied by a poem: "Here is an ode to generations of women holding each other, those honoring the springs we all come from. An ode to the source that created and nurtures us."
