Painting: Oil, Acrylic, Paper on Wood.
Oil, acrylic and collage on cradled wood panel. This painting is part of my “Waterfront” series, a group of collage-painting hybrids inspired by the Brooklyn waterfront near my studio. The waterfront is where our relationship with nature plays out in its most tangible form- it is the nexus of climate change and civilization. In this series, I explore man-made rock barriers that protect against tides along the waterfront, where many species of birds migrate through. Birds are the protagonists, usurping the place of humans. They forage objects or scraps of paper left behind by mankind. This series asks us to consider our impact on our planet while there is still time.
