Waves of Insomnia Painting

I wake up at odd hours during the night and because I've slept for a bit I'm no longer tired but I'm also not at all rested. Its during this stage between awake and sleep that I often experiment artistically in ways I might not otherwise try. The result over the years has been a series of paintings, now scattered from coast to coast, with the word "insomnia" included in their title. An accidental "collection" of sorts. Ironically, these paintings have been ones that have flowed freely they've actually played a key role in moving the direction of my artwork as a whole. The painting is bright, vibrant and energetic.
