I am a watercolorist working out of Buffalo, NY. I studied art at Hobart and William Smith College, but do not have a formal art degree. I consider myself a beginner, although I have been making various forms of art for a long time. I am most interested in the intersection of visual and written story. I like to paint characters who respond to one another through their body language and the choices of color. Watercolor holds a certain magic to it when I drop a bit of color onto the page and an explosion happens. I love the texture that a droplet of inky water brings. Traditionally, watercolor is a medium where you are supposed to work light from dark, but I often overlay lights over darks to see the effect.
