Art Description

Painting: Digital, Ink, Paint and Paper on Paper.

The local Portuguese community had a strong presence in welcoming The Charles W. Morgan to her birthplace, the New Bedford shipyards. Nearly 55% of the New Bedford community has Portuguese forebears. Many of these ancestors worked in the whaling industry. New Bedford was once the most important whaling port in the world. The Charles W. Morgan is the last surviving whaling ship in the world, and an ambassador for peace between humans and whales.
