ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Oils on canvas board. I use arches a lot in my recent work for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they are an entryway and an exit, which suggests a journey - something I’ve been thinking a lot about recently in abstract terms (excuse the pun). Secondly, to me, curves perfectly illustrate the adage “this too shall pass - and when placed together, could represent life’s ups and downs. May your ups be long and your downs short, dear viewer. Signed and dated on the back.
