About The Artwork

The painting is inspired by the song "All of Me" by John Legend. The imagery is derived from my painting trips to Italy and Spain. Architectural elements such as grids, gates, hearts, and passages symbolize the passing of time, changes in direction, barriers to communication, lost love. The painting is ready to frame as is or would look great in a floater frame

Andrea Goldsmith is best known for her painterly abstractions of the Italian landscape. Her colorful pieces incorporate imagery of architectural elements such as grids, gates, hearts, and passages that symbolize the passing of time, changes in direction, barriers to communication, and lost love. An avid dancer, she also depicts her experiences as an observer and as a participant in the dance world. Goldsmith completed a six-week solo exhibition of her abstract paintings at the Dave and Mary Alper JCC Futernick Gallery in Miami in January 2018, and a group art show of her dance paintings at One Art Gallery in Tribeca, NYC in February 2018. She has lived in Miami since 2013. Originally from New York City, she spent many years in New England where she studied with the well-known artist Wolf Kahn and at the Museum School in Boston. She returned full-time to Brooklyn in 2005 and exhibited at the Contemporary Art Fair at the Javits Center, and at the Giacobetti Paul Gallery in Dumbo She has participated in numerous art fairs including Satellite at Art Basel Week Miami, and Clio Art Fair during New York Armory Week. Goldsmith proud to have received 1st prize at the Concord Art Association in Massachusetts by the juror, the late artist Jon Imber, and 2nd prize at the Distinguished Artists Exhibit, from the artists George Nick and Lorette Coleman.
