[No longer available for sale: indicated as "sold" to make this clear, though in fact given to another artist.] American oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus), Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the Americas. Massive beaks. I was deliberately experimenting with ideas from Diebenkorn. Though once you've fitted three birds and three speech bubbles into 50x50cm, there's a limit to how much diebenkorning you can do... Alkyd oils on board, with acrylic underpainting and additional use of graphite pencil and marker pen. Board edges white. Size 50 x 50 cm (19.7 x 19.7 inches), edge depth 2.1 cm (0.8 inches).
