About The Artwork

The painting was created with a pop art sensibility using the heart motif in a much textured Abstract Expressionist style inspired by the Bleeding Heart flower with nature’s only vibrant heart shaped bloom. I hope that the viewers will feel that The Bleeding Heart flower carries specifically deep ideas and a focused purpose and meanings such as: Expressing emotions deeply, love, sensitivity to the world around us, feeling compassion and unconditional love for creation and connectivity in life. I chose the subject matter because in American and British culture, the Bleeding Heart is often exchanged as a symbol of true love. I think that heart is a placeholder for all the emotions that we feel, the heart must always be protected; it is the compass that directs your life.
