"Whispering Echoes of Time" (Firenze/Malta) 100x70 cm Oil on stretched Canvas June 2023 "Whispering Echoes of Time" is a highly detailed painting where I capture the interplay between memories and the passage of time using glazing techniques. Spanning 100 x 70 cm, this artwork took nearly 6 months of meticulous dedication to complete. The work is influenced by my time living in Florence, Italy and an early morning I spent in Malta. The extended duration was primarily driven by the intricate process of layering and the deliberate use of a predominantly blue monochromatic palette. Through detailed brushwork, I aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia and contemplation within the viewer. The painting showcases fragments of memories, rising and fading, encouraging deep reflection on the ephemeral nature of treasured recollections. By employing deliberate artistic choices, I manipulate light and shadow, infusing the artwork with a captivating play of contrasts. This piece draws heavily from my personal experiences with time and memories, specifically exploring the concept of certain memories submerging over time while others resurface, like ethereal entities emerging from beneath the waters of remembrance. The painting is stretched with good-quality canvas on heavy-duty stretchers. Signed on the back
