Ithaqua is a monster or a creepy spirit, a lord of winter and cold weather in the legends of North American Indians. He has been reported from as far north as the Arctic to the Sub-Arctic, where Native Americans first encountered him. He is believed to prowl the Arctic waste, hunting down unwary travelers, and slaying them in a gruesome fashion. He is believed to have inspired the Native American legend of the Wendigo. The cycle of the seasons is an important subject in Indians' culture: symbols, rituals, legends and totems. For example, a circle as a symbol of cycle, birds – freedom and changes, an owl – a symbol of death and fear.

I work in a contemporary abstract style. To express my feelings and emotions in non-objective and figurative shapes I use mixed media technique. It makes it possible to visualize changing moods. I often employ collage elements to add volume and create unexpected surface texture. Though the essential elements in my art are emotions, there is always a particular idea behind. When the concept is formed I can make it real or even transform into something new. It is a permanently exciting experiment. Frankness and intellectual liberty arouse my inspiration.
