The third in my newest series based off of observations of wildflowers down my wooded road...I have added drawing in the paint as a key element in these works, and made it a focus. It reacts with the texture by creating a negative space element that pulls against the positive textural elements. As well as creates fantastic natural movement and depth in the work. I've also left these canvases a bit more open allowing the background color to affect the overall mood of image with warm or cool tones artwork depending. For this one, I observed nature towards dusk finding that the pinks and salmons in the early evening sky forced my eyes to focus on the intensity of the color in each bloom, blade of grass or stem. It seems that the path to sunset leads to a fight for color survival and dominance in the overall landscape and is a valuable time for observation. This work was complete 08/09/21 and is drying. It will be available to ship in about 30 days.

Statement: CHANGE IS HEALTHY, GROWTH IS NECCESSARY, EXPLORATION IS LIFE: PORTRAITS AND PLANTS: My work offers less about the detailed physicality of nature and instead captures the purest emotions bestowed upon the human condition by exposure to nature. The idea of life is given by stroke, passion by line, belief via color, and all displayed as offerings to our truest self. Bio: To Michigan artist Jon Parlangeli there is no other path but to constantly ask and then answer questions via different modalities within his medium. This leads to new explorative bodies of work offering differing styles, genres, or techniques that satiate his curiosity for the space between real and the abstract. Parlangeli uses both nature and figure as his muse often jostling between them to solve internal conundrums exposed during studio sessions. Standing over such processes is his artistic signature, color. Born partially color blind, Parlangeli uses color as his weapon of indelicacy often pushing beyond subtle yet achieving a cosmopolitan of sublime. Parlangeli is a seasoned painter who has placed works within corporate and private collections throughout the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. His works have been shown in the US and internationally.
