Art Description

Painting: Watercolor on Paper.

These Japanese anemone, cut with a hard freeze forecast, begged to be painted - and watercolors seemed the only media to capture their delicacy. The clear white petals provide a great contrast with the autumn colors and they hover on very tall, delicate stems - much like the poppies that I love to paint. Working with these then inspired me to paint the previous two watercolors from photos taken while they were still in the garden.
