Why I started painting on paper? I pulled my back hiking large frames around. For a week I was limping around, and of course, I needed to continue getting ready for my next show, so, I discovered that I could work on paper. Beautiful acid free paper. And, is often the case when accidents happen, something beautiful and different emerges. I have painted 3 of these. One called 'Seed' this one called 'Wing' and 'Flower + Dragon'. It is one of those paintings that you can't get close enough to. The play of colour and layering is intoxicating. It started out as gingko biloba imagery and emerged as wings. I had a shop build me a custom wooden floating frame with a removable archival plexi-glass [glass]. The decal edge is beautifully lifted off the back and floats under the plexi-glass.

Art and Design are part insight, part inspiration, and a lot – of invention. In my studio, accidents happen, and that moves my work forward. It is always exciting to watch work take on a life of its own. I begin with the end in mind, and always land in a different place. I work hard to develop original works – avoiding trends and following the direction of the work – in the moment. My colourful works reflect my love of colour, and design. Works are held in private and public collections worldwide.
