About The Artwork

Geometric abstract painting made in 2020 by Amanda Andersen, initialed on the back. This piece is from a body of work inspired by ordinary object arrangements such as table-top still lives. The objects were simplified drastically into outlines, overlapping each other to form a unifying connection. This piece has a blue background with thin lined shape outlines in cloud blue, brown, pink and a solid cone with brown and yellow stripes. This was all hand painted and none of the lines are perfectly straight, lending it character. Artwork is ready to hang and comes with the frame pictured. The frame is solid maple, very light with a slight rose color and has an acrylic front. Acrylic and gouache paint on thick, acid free, archival paper. The paper has an unfinished sketch on the back. Drawing is 50 x 70 cm (19,6 x 27,5 inches). Original will be shipped in a box from Hamburg.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Working mostly in acrylic paint on canvas, I make minimal compositions with sprinklings of high contrast patterns and color. My process is a repetition of addition and subtraction, pedaling between the abstract and figurative. Inspired by the rigid lines of Agnes Martin and organic forms of Eva Hesse, I also adore fantasy films, surrealism, brutalist architecture and a really smooth gradient. Sometimes I set my paintings in motion; I'm also an illustrator and animator creating works under digital pseudonym We Throw Rocks. Based out of a poorly heated–yet cozy attic studio bordering the icy waters of Northern Europe.
