About The Artwork

I first invented this style about 50 years ago, when I was about 19. Life got in the way, and I've only just started painting again in the last three years. I'm 71 now, but fit as a butcher's dog. I like Frank Stella's later work, and that sells for millions. I intend to produce more in my WTF series, I intend to produce very large works that will cost more, but this is still an excellent investment right now, before I become famous. I like texture morphing from one kind of texture to the next. I try to evolve and change my style, the same way that Frank Stella has done over the last 50 years. I intend to use more gold leaf in the future when I've more cash to spare. I like to make paintings that are impossible to look at for a split second and store in one's memory. You'll NEVER remember all the detail in any of my work and there are lots of puzzles to be seen if you look carefully. And finally I always like to make something that looks good, that looks interesting and unusual, and then give a twist to the next painting and the next. None are exactly the same, but you can see common components in one or other of them. Kind regards - Chris Newton

I was born in the very beautiful town called Llandudno in North Wales. It's just across the Conway River were stands a huge 1,000 year old Norman Castle. The scenery is spectacular to say the least I grew up in Liverpool and worked there in engineering as a teenager and young man. I then moved to The Wirral and lived there for over ten years About 16 years ago I bought an incredible apartment here in Thailand and started a family. I now have two children aged nine and eleven. We have a big UK style bar restaurant here where everyone goes to socialise. There's lots of guys who work in the oil and gas industry. They're clever, witty and sociable. This is a very laid back fun lifestyle. Oh, and there's quite a few ex military guys. Oh and of course one or two gangsters. And that's just the expats. I'm retired, so I have lots of spare time, but now I've started painting again and that's been a labour of love. I don't take myself too seriously, and like to think I've a good sense of humour, and I hope that's reflected in my paintings. I do hope you like them, and then want to buy them ! Do leave a comment please. Something like "brilliant or superb" .... I'll be very happy with that !
