YELLOW II Painting

My paintings and drawings explore the abstraction, emotion, contours, animals, and ever and always, the human face. Wild or muted palettes, epic size canvases, murals or the back of a dinner menu, it is all in the moment, knowing-the-rules-and-breaking-them play. *** I started drawing faces when I was sixteen. I found painting at twenty-one. I draw faces every day and I draw faces in a way that makes sense to me. I don’t know who they are. Deciphering the face is the first language we know as humans. It is the ultimate language. *** Science says that we never dream faces that we have not seen in real life – and I wonder whether the same is true for faces that I paint.
