About The Artwork

Original Painting on Paper - Yellow Flowers on Dish. A Series of Spring Flowers during this blooming season. A lovely flower series of small paintings are painted in Japanese/Chinese mineral pigment and acrylic on paper. Because I am an underwater lover and an Asian background, I brought in the water world and China ceramic still life in this composition which found surreal. Layers of mineral pigment which gives texture and shininess; therefore, there will be no print for these series. Why do I love using mineral pigment because of the jewellery like surface layer by layer. Prints cannot be shown the result of the great thickness and texture. Original artwork only!! Title: Yellow Spring Flowers on Dish Size: 8" x 8" (25.5 x 25.5 cm) without frame. Medium: Mineral pigment Signature: Signed on the front right. A signed Certificate of Authenticity will be included with the painting.

Fanny Tang was born on a beautiful small island, Nauru, a Central Pacific Island near Australia and formerly known as Pleasant Island. She holds a BFA in oil painting (University of Calgary). Back and worked in Hong Kong after her undergraduate. In 2013 she finished her MFA in the Fresco Department (Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China). She currently lives and works in Vancouver BC., Canada. Fanny has held solo and group exhibitions in Beijing, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States, and Canada. My motto “swim to my dream, and freedom from my mind”, flows from the Buddhist teaching “In the present moment lies freedom”. The technique of pouring acrylic sheets to form swimming sea creatures, integrating: mountains, clouds, birds into seascapes, and aquatic life into skyscapes, forms a mythical world, juxtaposing realism, and surrealism, offering reprieve from reality; ultimately reminding us that there is always potential, hope, and connection in the now. A lexicon of personal, and cultural meaning populate these works. Water represents oneness, and connection; insight of the Sūtra on Heart, and Eight Realizations of Great Beings symbolized by Chinese characters’ shaped corals, jellyfishes, and puffer fishes representing freedom, and suffering.
