About The Artwork
Set in a serene landscape of color the figure is committed to the inverted bow pose. This posture is about creating balance and strength in the core, spine, arms and lungs. The figure is coupled with the lotus flower which is very prevalent in eastern culture. The Lotus flower means enlightenment, love and compassion for all. The background is an amalgam of colors which seem to be bleeding into each other forming a passionate skyline. My style is very personal as I draw from life experience but can be appreciated by anyone willing to let themselves indulge in the work. I enjoy working with Oil paints, they express a richness in color and texture as well as a beautiful finished effect. This painting series is inspired by my lifelong journey with Yoga. I have been practicing Yoga for over 20 years and gained much from the lifestyle. My hope is that viewers will discover a sense of tranquility and self awareness when viewing my Artwork and in some way surrender to the experience.
