« I am inspired by a conscious decision to live life in playing mode, with lightness, in the hope to also share that lightness with others as they experience my sculptures. » Lamia Fakhoury is an experienced sculptor based in Jordan whose works have been exhibited nationally. Lamia is Jordanian sculptors who experiments with a range of different materials, while pushing the medium’s possibilities beyond what’s been done and what comes easy. Her sculptures are inspired by themes rich in playfulness and whimsy reflecting the joy she has found in sculpting. The themes celebrate friendship and sisterhood of Jordanian women, different but very much the same, playing while supporting one another with lightness.
