ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This vibrant painting explores pattern and repetition. The changing boundaries of freedom and the recent enforced restrictions of Covid inspired this work. Seeking the comfort of the familiar I was drawn toward the idea of sequence and repetition. Using the structure of a grid as a base the compositions show similarities of color within the picture frame yet identifiable differences between the grid sections. Intentional changes of composition reflect the changing pattern of life and show how disruption can break the normal course of continuation. An experience familiar to us all.
