Hello, my name is Betekhtin Kirill, I've been painting since I remember myself. My mother is a painter and she always wanted to attract me to art - she took me to an art school and drew with me at home, we often visited museums and theatres together. To be honest since I were young I didn't like to visit classes in art school - it seemed really boring to me, I didn't want to feel control and pressure from teachers, but I really liked to draw at home and making different handmade crafts. After school I went to an art college but studying here was also not particularly interesting to me. I always wanted to break out of control and act on my own. At one point I dropped everything and went to St. Petersburg from a small town. Here I met artists and artistic life and here I rented my first workshop. I think exactly in St. Petersburg I began to identify myself as an artist. I was very inspired by this city - while sitting in my workshop I drew and I felt that right now I am in my place. I paint images, faces, people. The faces I meet in my life constantly found their place in my drawings. in distorted shapes and colors, in the way I feel them. Of course, for me, as for any artist, painting is a way of interacting with the world. When I feel good or bad - I paint. When I meet a wonderful or terrible person, I transfer him to the canvas. This is how I live and now I can't imagine myself doing something else.
