About The Artwork

M P Landis note 162 december 2020 mixed media on 140 lb Fabriano watercolor paper 12 x 9 inch studio KBR, Brunswick, ME I began this series in february 2020, it is the culmination of years of tinkering and considerations and will continue to morph and adapt with time and experience. Each month I will choose 15 notes to title, sign and date for my own examination and to offer up for sale. This series will be exhibited individually and as compositions, small and large. I currently am exhibiting my first installation of this work titled, "Composition One (2021)" at Ocean House Gallery in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, it is comprised of 48 notes and measures 72 x 72". Each note listed here is on heavy Fabriano watercolor paper, dimensions are 12 x 9 inches and are signed, titled and dated on verso. In the future my plan is to install Compositions which will be played by live musicians familiar with my work.
