In the down town of the capital, the majority of the households in Madagascar cannot afford to use gas cookers at the kitchen neither they managed to use charm coal so what they do is using firewoods so the kitchen is permanently smoky and the walls are painted in black cos of it. No doubt, if you come to visit one of these households, I bet that you won't stay more than 10mn as the smoke will bite your very eyes like onion.
