This self-portrait speaks of the inevitable encounter of a dead end. When life does not give you another option than the inevitable. It also speaks of the act of nobility that emerges from a commitment to ideals and for which one even wishes to sacrifice oneself if necessary; since the most important thing in this life, lies for this person, in this moment and in this place, in the imperative and indispensable necessity of never betraying oneself. This painting, as if it were an oil painting but with acrylics and water techniques, was a work made for a collective exhibition in 1984 of illustrations on the subject of bars in Barcelona. The style is a summary of a mixture of personal concerns about artistic expression, in which the author feels free of academic conventions and consequently expresses simply her self-taught knowledge.
