At first, it was languages and translation, as the art to translate what others communicate; then came the language of art, to translate what I say... but with a brush stroke. Born in Argentina. I graduated as an English Language Professor and Translator. After working many years teaching and translating, I decided to resume a childhood passion: Painting. I signed up in a very renowned School of Art in Buenos Aires, The Guillermo Roux foundation. In the last years, I have been mostly expressing myself with watercolors. I love the transparency of the layers, and the unique effect achieved by combining colors. My inspiration comes most of the times directly from Nature. I try to blend in by observing, taking pictures and drawing, My artwork, in general, is characterized by the abstraction of an image that is not fully revealed or completed. The form is rather suggested, hidden or might hover on the surface. I create a representation with a lyrical tone. My hand draws the memory of a possible reconstruction, a probable past. It is the record of a timeless trace, a graphic arrest with a minimalist emphasis. In my works, I try to avoid hierarchies, while I subvert the pictorial quality to favor the emotional observation towards the minimal gesture. The shape then appears as a fragmented body, subdued to the whole. The color comes sweet and powerful, while an unexpected water drop plays together with a line that looks for harmony or rebels from symmetry. My favorite support is paper; also connected to Nature, it seduces me like no other. Watercolors, that I can mix with ink, pastel, graphite, pencils, and even collage, allow me to produce a sincere image, by showing layers, traces and blunders. The beauty of a media that offers the quality of color difficult to compete with: unique in the sum of transparencies. Watercolor leads me to the challenge of letting flow, not at random, but in a controlled equilibrium. Painting is, for me, an intimate and silent haven as well as a subtle language to communicate with others. Hope you enjoy my works!
